Getting there and back wasn't a problem, for me anyway. The problem was that half an hour after I got back the power went out. So I had 12 hours of stirring the tanks with spoons to give them a bit of airation. All except my biggest cooled down to around 21°. Only losses at the moment seem to be 3 cardinals (WHY?!? the hell do I always lose ALL the cardinals?) The backyard was flooded to about 3-4" deep, a nice big river going past the house. When Bridget was coming home from work at 7am the highway was closed off because of flooding, Lower Hutt is apparently totally flooded, all the bridges over the river are closed, took her an hour to get to Upper Hutt and she had to drive through flooding that was up to the 200SX's bumper. Cops have totally shut down any traffic headed towards Wellington. The road up the hill home was covered with slips, flooding and waterfalls. The inlaws who live about 5Ks up the road are stuck at home because the road is blocked off both directions.
Isn't it supposed to be hot and dry this time of year?
Oh, and it was nice seeing you and everyone else too, Andrew...(Except the canadians, hehe Just kidding)
