Gold fish are cold water fish, I tried it once with bn's and goldfish and the golds got unhappy and ended up loseing a couple so i guess thats why gold fish are cold water and tropical are warm. plus I think gold fish carry bugs but could bewrong

I didnt think anyone used that program anymore, I tend to keep my old programs i will have a look later and see if i still got it.

Its a shame you didn't post this sunday , they had them at hutt pets tho were small but have think they were breedable size, I got my mum a pair and know for sure now that are male and female.

To my understanding fighters and gouramis can not go together, I could be wrong but im sure someone told me that or i read it somewhere.

I had white spot or ich whatever but it took me a long time to get rid of it as well as i was just starting out, someone told me to put the temp up to 30 and cover the tank cant remember the reason for covering the tank something to do with the free swimming ones, i also did water change every 3 days to let the treatment have a chance to work then did water change and treated again, I use meth blue or something and that worked. I have read that too much treatment can make them infertile dont know if that correct or not. Hope you get it sorted

Are the mites tiny white things cause i got them too, though my worms are doing ok i have a couple of earth worms in with them to keep the dirt moving and they breeding as well. You could try getting new soil and pulling your worms out of the old one.

I think someone in that conversation said it didnt feed out enough or something like that. I can not find that post now.

Now that was interesting. I am gonna give it a go in the next week well getting the tank ready etc , I am gonna use thick sand i think umm still thinking on that lol Do you think a thirty litre well be ok, Its 1 metre long so plenty of room etc or should i use a bigger tank ?

Out of Dixon1990 and Me surely one of us will have some luck. Would be pretty cool to breed them.

Thanks everyone for all the info, I am going to at some stage attempt it. I will try and create there natural habitat etc and hopefully i have some success or flukes lol. How many do you think i should get to try with, I have 4 at the moment and not sure if any are female though there is one that is real plump in the guts but may be fat lol. What kind of plants do you think they would like, I have loads of grass plants but couldnt find anything to say what type of plants to use.

I was telling my 3 year old if he goes on road he will get run over and be dead like the fish he then turned around and looked at me and said I be flushed down toilet like the fish LOL. Its funny how kids see things.

No but people have had them breed weather it be fluke or whatever there must be a way.

He removed all the oraments and stuff and gave a good vacuumed so far no more dead and water smell has gone. so must of been a build up of bacteria under the plants, oraments etc.

Hi and welcome The Upper Hutt club is nice and local. They meet at the IHC Centre on Goodshed Road (about 400m south of the new Mitre 10 Mega) every second Thursday of the month. I have not been myself yet but I am hoping to make the next one fingers crossed.

Hi Im pretty sure its about 8 weeks, I guess it depends on how well u feed them etc.

I would love mine to breed even by fluke would be nice but wont hold my breath.

Hi For the first 24 hours i think it is, The mother wont touch them but the others mite, I normally put mine in a breeding cage they way i can also see they getting enough food and are growing etc. If you leave them some will survive and some may get eaten.

well get him to take his water down tomorrow , i dont have a car so I cant hopefully he will have time , In the mean time would daily vacuums help

what do you think he should do , daily gravel vacs? None of my tanks have this problem i have normal gravel.
