  1. oh see you just being a hipicrite now. you did the same thing aparently. the royal blues are more round in shape. mine is more cut, mines nose is longer and forehead is not round like royal blues have. everyone thinks they rite. thats just funny.
  2. i was gona say im absolutely calm but then thought when people say it they usualy not really whoops.. i pretty much said id
  3. you know when i still thought it was a royal blue people came to me and told me hey its not royal blue its a chilumba, they were as sure as you are , so who do i believe? i believed my own reasearch.
  4. so you acusing me now in trying to get more money for my fish?? i put 5 dollars start price and let people bid whatever they think they will pay for them. thats al i did. i didnt change the name coz i think they nicer or whatever i havnt had any reasons whatsoever. i just changed the name coz i am sure it is a chilumba. i feel wrong if i call it royal blue. I saw royal blues, many of them trying to make sure that mine is but i just couldnt coz he simply wasnt.when i just got him i told i have a royal blue, but then sumone would show me his royal blue and be like does this look like yours but it wouldnt?so what would i say yes when it didnt? You cant really judge you havnt seen my fish live up close so how can you tell just by a bad picture? and be so sure you rite and acusing me in ripping people off? thats not very nice. If you think i am wrong and selling the wrong stuffd and dont want your friend to buy it fine just tell him not to someone else will.
  5. nah the female looks like that on the pic that you posted here and my male looks exactly as that kens one when mine is trying to impress the female. royal blues are dif in shape from my peacock so i doubt that hes a royal blue.. coz the guy that i bought it from wasnt sure himself. i cant remember his name anymore. he didnt seem to know much abotu cichlids at all. and ive talked to ken and all that and he says its a chilumba. also anyone else who i asked said it was a chilumba and ive seen royal blues too and they look different.. so i still stick to it being a chilumba. so im pretty confident is it. on pics hes got his fins down and the picture was taken in funny angle so maybe you cant really tell , he looks exactly like the one that on that pic here. when he has his fins up. anyway whats the point of arguing.
  6. nah , i looked closer today and its just the gils came off. so its not actually that. but hes still flashing , scratching himself on the rocks... so it must be that hes itchy.. but what can be a cause?
  7. cheers ! thats a big article but was very helpful!
  8. we were told it was royal blue, but then after a while we figured out its a chilumba, people came and looked and said it was 100% chilumba... uhm go to freshwater tanks theres a pic of my fish under peacock only tank. also ken has same as ours but a bit smaller and ours is exactly the same but big so...
  9. uhm ive only got two males that get a bit bad moody sometimes, but noone actually fights. and the female seems to be calm as always.. i would probably sell her but im too used to her you know.. =) i had her from the begining ... and shes about 6-7 years old.. and her males would prolly go crazy if she goes =) they ALWAYS together, even like swiming next to each other pretty much at al times. i mentioned sumwhere that i thought they were life time couple, he doesnt let anyone near her. i wonder how do i stop them from breeding...
  10. no i still insist its not fighting, i saw two of my males fighting they were going in curcles sumwhere in the tank, but these two are on the bottom, he dug the gravel there and they going in curcles and shaking their bodies then swapping places. and all other fish are in opposite corner.. its def breeding pretending, i just wana know why with a male...
  11. il get a pic when il get a camera although i doubt that you will be able to see anything on it as ive got a bad camera and when the pic is up close it makes it extremely blurry, it looks like he was scratching there and the lil gils(? whatever its caled in english that stuff that coveres the fish) came off or coming off. ye athat what it looks like to me.. he is scratching on the rocks ALOT and shaking his head like hes trying to shake it off.. still eats 100% though so shouldnt be feeling too bad. but that hie scratching is driving me crazy ,fish is not calm and happy, im not calm and happy!
  12. ha yea i hope there will be females in there too, i can definately see a couple of males tho.. no they werent in mixed tank, they were on their own so no worries about them being mud bloods they are in mixed tank now though and they already spet out another batch into the tank, i hope they will just get eaten...
  13. the lemon jake is a young male he just started to colour up and not fully grown yet but i guess he could mistake him for a female, they were actually like, breeding, doing it the peacock way if you know what i mean. crazy..

    YAAAY!

my lil fish started to colour up =) my chilumba babies, had them since the begining of september, thats when they were spet out by my female, i had 75 of these lil buggers in one go! crazy. now they looking nice and blueish =) so cute, and they just over an inch long. can already see the dominant male . only sad that they already been sond.. my last 10 fish will be gone next week.. ah.. its funny how you get so attached to fish... they r like my won kids. havnt had a single death with this lot, all 75 babies were raised and sold.. its unbeliavable how long it takes them to grow and especially get some colour!
  15. ive got a peacock that is flirting with my lemon jake HARD OUT!!!! he shows al breeding signs,al other fish are in the corner and only lemon jake is swimming free. i even saw them "doing it"!! like the peacocks do normally, xcept no egs would come out and the lemon jake would of course just wonder off. but it looks so real! whats wrong with them jez! :-? :-? :-?
  16. on one of my fish! hes side just next to his gils, realy bad its a long white spot that goes al the way from top to botom, only apeared today ,hes scratching on rocks badly. i did white spot cure but it didnt help,it went away for a while but now hes got that again ,hes the only one who had it before and has it now... is there any other things that i can try to get rid of it? thanx :-?
  17. if she is in a dif tank she will realise that they will be safe and will spit them out. trust me she is probably starving herslf and cant wait to get rid of them yea and dont feed her she wont eat anyway.. just make sure you give her some food and rest after she spits out , in case the male will want to start breeding again.. i remember my male didnt let her have a rest, wanted to breed all the time..
  18. I personaly dont agree with 8 and 9 , about 8: life is short in comparasment to other things, like turtles live way longer than we do why? so do trees. and 9 : there are many different buses that go different directions, if a person is standing there doesnt mean that your bus hasnt come and left yet. maybe they just waiting for another one or they late as well as you are. Ashzbetta: well maybe sometimes you try something new and i ask you is that nice? to know if its worth trying for me or not. or i cooked it for you and want to know your opinion about it? Also , depends when people say about the toilet, or maybe you would prefer you talking to them and them getin up and leaving to the toilet out of nowhere
  19. nah i dont have bristlenoses, the fish seems to be picking the algae but still not enough of course.. do bristlenoses ACTUALLY noticably keep it cleaner?
  20. they dont eat it but they just rip it into pieces. now ive got hair algae on the glass ! what do i do with hair algae? dam somethings happening to my tank.. how do you test phosphates?
  21. havnt tried testing phosphates but no my tank is not in direct light , my room doesnt get any direct light at all. only for 5 mins in the morning... the tank capacity is 200L , i had white sand before and it stayed white and never had algae on it , and aragonite stayed white until after the last time i cleaned the tank ,it started goin brown.. yea i turn the coral over as well . i only have fake plants in the tank coz they rip the natural ones out. And definately dont overfeed, only feed once a day... And the setup is not new either ... what to do what to do..
  22. Hey everyone again, a lil update, did ammonia test its perfectly fine.. means its not there heh, treated for ich\white spot ... notice that other fish stoped scratching .. as far as i can tell but one is scratching even more. and he really is SCRATCHING ,like something is bothering him alot, also if you look at him at his side you can see a white spot, not just a dot but actually a spooot, and one of his lil. uhm whatever its called i dont know in english anyway its missing ,i think the same on the other side,i guess its from scratching.. so still havnt figured out why hes scratching...
  23. Hey there, undying problem,algae... in my case alot of it,some people love to grow it for fish but i dont, i will clean the tank once a week with like 40% water change and in 3 days my coral is already brown instead of beging white as when i just cleaned it. I am not talking about getin rid of algae fully but at least make my clean tank last longer, what should i do? i reduced light to minimum just to check, even had no light on for a couple days when went away, came back and everythin is covered in algae.. nothing special but just that brown one.. even my aragonite now it turning brown !!! I love my fish but i just simply dont have time to spend 2 hours cleaning te tank every 2-3 days ! i was thinking maybe thats because : my filtration is not goo enough ,the filter does 900 L\P ,the tank capacity is 200L so its bit more than 4 times an hour.. should be enough... ive got 7 fish in there... so my main suspect is filtration.. Dont know what kind of light it is but as i figured it doesnt mater. Feed them once a day with cichlid pellets (btw fish is eating fine now.. dont know what it was b4..) tested ammonia and there is none... nitrate nitrite al none,ph 8-8.5,everything seems to be in order but the algay just keeps coming on me. of course i know that its normal o have algay but trust me not THAT much in such a short period of time, its just stupid.. Any ideas at ALL? im thinking about installing my other external filter there as well.. it does 1200 L\P so in total itl be 2100 L\P which should really keep it clean..
  24. i thought that in new zealand people are against marriage and hate it... hehe , i wish i would get used to the amount of money my bf spends on cars... but i guess i never will! you lucky with your gf!
