Why do you ask about driftwood Milet?? i've got a similar problem on my smaller tank that developed about a week after i placed a piece of drift wood in the tank. Been doing lot's of water change's but it keep's re-appearing? Was told it was suspended algie?? Drift wood was from a LFS, washed and pre-soaked btw

just gave it a shake up now so i'll see how that go's. Seem's to have got a whole lot of air out. How open should i have the tap's while i'm waiting for the tank to cycle??

yeah i've been letting the room/sun light in for a bit before i switch the tank light's on. Dont wanna spook them to much!

Is it normall for the filter to gurgle and let out a few bubble's every ten minute's or so?? Or has it got a air leak/lock?? New to this external filter stuff!!

I bit the bullet and went for it today! Have seen the same set up retailed for $1200!? Filter is a far better one than the trickle/over head set up's on the "AR" tank's. Just got in set up now, wot a mission! Now i've gotta hurry up and wait for it to cycle then stock up! 8) :bounce:

Aqua one regal 80 (175l) tank and stand, CF1000 filter, 200w heater and lighting kit for $620. Sound like a good deal?? Brand new btw...

sweet, seem's i'm doing pretty much the same. What about the actual turning on and off of light's? Can it stun the fish in any way??

Is there a maximum amount of time you should keep tank lights on for??

First up sorry to cees for the annoying email's! :oops: I finally read the rules of joining up after a month or two of "just looking"!! At last i can now post! I'm 25 from Hamilton and have only been keeping fish for about 8 months so am struggling a bit, but am enjoying the challange and am learning lot's as I go. Currently only have a 34l tank but am on the look out for something larger; think i've caught the bug! Looking forward to getting to know you all.
