  1. Welcome, A bit more info on type of filter, tank setup, livestock and feeding regime will help. It could be a sign of overstocking or over feeding.
  2. Yes you can but because of the way it is created it can contain heavy metals which require special tests to determine their prescence. IME I havent seen a marine tank containing scoria that has been running longer 12 months.

  10. an update some growth in the purses, about 1/4 to 1/3rd of the yolk sac left now and babies are growing
  11. How are you getting water from tank to sump, drilled hole and overflow?

  17. I have had problems with scoria in the past and only use coral rock now,
  18. Rock from the shore is not porous enough to support much bacteria for the nitrogen cycle.
