a discussion on another WTB thread on here had started discussing the genealogy of fish
so thought i would start a thread for thoughts on strains of fish and identification
my thoughts from there
sadly a few years back the record keeping for imported fish was not the best
but a lot of fish came through misidentified by mistake or deliberately to avoid import restrictions
there are the odd sets of fish around that have been kept in a contained breeding program amd so have remained pure
the only way to know for sure they are pure is to breed for a few generations and produce all true to type offspring
no sump yet kiwi, too scared to drill the tank, 75cm deep, 90 wide
2 canister filters, pomice, noodles, bio balls and coarse sponges, filter wool in one
20% water change every 2nd or third day, straight from hose
i am only too happy to supply information that will edify, confuse, baffle or astound you
there should be nothing here to harm the ear, eye or nose of the most fastidious
step right this way, put your money in the hat and take your chances with the beaurecratic system
a great man once said "if you can't dazzle them with scientific fact then baffle them with bovine fecal matter"
yes, you need to take a birdcage with you to prove you can contain things
jars and tin cans are not considered suitable containmaent facilities for air breathing animals
using a sharp object to pierce holes in the lids of the jars/cans has previously been found to be an acceptable modification to bring them within the definition of a containment facility
this was typed while firmly placing my tongue in cheek
got stung on the finger by a bristleworm one day, end of my finger full of spines
tried to scrape them off with my teeth
result numb tongue, numb teeth for awhile
it hurt
remember kids these stunts are done in a controlled environment by professionals
do not attempt this at home
