To be honest id rather sell the tank a base as a working tank with the filter and make up a frame that everything fits in with a massive sump and get a tank built again It hasnt cost me much, just need to convince to old man to help me build a lid for this one and help me build a new one :roll: Give me a few days lol Got a 1.3 x .5 x .5 freshwater to build a base and lid for :roll: May start a frame for the big freshwater in the morn Iv got some thinking to do I could put it in the living room....but still new tank would be easier long term Im not going to get a red sea tank i have decided Think ill start with a over sized RO filter and wait for a deltec. I was talking about the "other" ones(cant remember their names) as i dont haver access to salt water One major set back is that my base is low and doors are small=cant get a sump and skimmer in Not keen on making a new base. Think thats right. Diffuser is just to used to get more water movement over the surface of the bubble i think. All i use is a airstone

I have put some stocking over my inlet of my internal filter on my 38L breeding tank for my patties. My water flow has decreased to a drip and i think i need more flow for a healthy tank. Any suggestions? May make the inlet longer and put small holes in it with a drill(new inlet pipe with pvc)

What i do to prime them is put the inlet in the tank and then suck on the outlet to fill up the canister without getting a airlock. When its full to the outlet pipe turn the filter on and put the outlet back into the tank. It may need a bit of trial and error :lol: Depends on how messy your fish are to how often to clean

So you need a external pump to pump water into the skimmers? What material do people like to use for sumps?

What specs should i be aiming for in a return pump? What are good brands and how much will they set me back?

Im thinking of suspending my lights so they are easy to get to and change/add more Want to stay with one light source, halides I may make the sump longer so i can get a good sized skimmer in there. Ill ask some more questions when i get around to making it. IE sizes of different parts of the sumps I dont know that much about corals as yet, but i hope to learn before i set up my tank. Ill have a look at marine tank's to see what id like. I do LOVE the setup they have at Wonderworld in Rotorua(2m+ i think) and will pop into the shops in Auckland to have a look at more tanks. Any suggestions of what shops to go see for a perve?
