Im wanting to compile an article soon and am wondering what people think/know. What pro's and cons can you see in the alternative foods that you use/used? Iv noticed better growth feeding beef. Beef Pros: High protein/energy? = high growth rates Cons: Higher fat content than fish meat = liver problems? Shrimp Pros: More similar to what fish would eat in the wild Cons: ???? Reading the back of my Haikari carnivore pellets pack i see that they contain wheat flour. They are min 47% protein, min 5.0% fat. Max 3% crude fiber, max 17% crude ash(ummmm ash???). Any other input is welcome

Theres places that pack more fish in a small space, saw 2ft fish in a tank that where only cm's longer than the fish.

At $20ish for 70g I gave up trying to get my dats onto them. Feeding 3+ large dats on that stuff would cost some serious $ Beef + Shrimp + Fish = good growth

I think they do ok up to about 25c. Just bring them up slowly and they should be fine. Iv read reports on them in tropical tanks and them doing well. Next time i go near the sea im getting a bunch of them for one of my planted tanks.

Find a old pc and rip the power supply out. I use a 100w PSU. Hook some cold cathodes up to it and you away. Should come out sub $20

Flourish Excel(FX) is not a fert as such. Its bioavailable organic carbon. Florapride is a Iron-Intensive Fertilizer. Leaf Zone is a fert of some sort. Here's the(my?) formula for good plant growth: Good lighting + carbon(co2 or organic carbon) + Fertilizer = good plant growth I use FX and PMDD(fert) with great results. PMDD is cheap!
