  1. No way by the time you buy, proper skimmer, proper lights circulation, additives test kits then you have livestock rock 12-20 a kilo for 60 litre around 6-8 kilo fish normally around 100 each, clowns are 90 in wellington, bangaii 90,flame 180 then corals, now 4 corals wouldnt even fill a gap in a marine tank no matter what size. and each coral here in wellington is around 90-120 for a normal size coral, 60 litre tank maybe 8 corals might make it look alright then you have a bag of sand 50 dollars freshwater is WAY cheaper and way easier, no doubt about it, they are nothing alike
  2. damsels??? horrible little bastards, get rid of them both
  3. No I know its an expensive hobby but its even more expensive if you keep loosing livestock, get a deltec, or maybe a reef octopus, But make sure if you get a RO you get one rated for two-three times the tank volume
  4. or just listen to what people are saying and get a skimmer!

you should definatly split it up
  12. Or If you are really intrested in it, you could add a HOB skimmer and I know of someone who sells hang on 150 watt halides REAL nice units just clips onto back of tank
  13. dont waste your time, You would have to change everything for corals Get a RSM if you want corals

    re how much

    seriously dude one thread
  15. on the back of it, Stop starting up new posts, just combine them all into one
  16. to be honest id say alittle, the ones ive seen for sale go for around 1k empty, I was selling mine for 1 k with enough live rock for the tank, But I gues the real question is, do you think you have over 2k worth of stock in there? if so then its probably worth splitting up and then flicking just the tank
  17. the splash cover definatly goes back on, it does what its called, stops the water that can splash over the side going straight into the power socket. its really easy to put it on like the conch has explained
  18. reefs right, we mostly start with crap gear spend thousands of dollars then have to start all over again, if you are going to do marines do it right, or dont do it, stick with freshwater fish.
  19. mines out of control but yes keep alk mg and ca levels all intact and itl grow in no time
  20. how do you overdrive? :-?
  21. MH option or quad t5 instead of double better skimmer more flow maybe some kind of closed loop system standard,And a ATO standard,or maybe even dosing pumps or both? I think the rest of it is pretty sweet,I dont care what side the powercord comes out off you can always pull it round the other side. Maybe some type of chiller thing in the back? just to cool water alittle, not a full blown chiller but something to help keep it cool like those little things from nanocustoms. would be good to have EVERYTHING in one so you dont have any excuse to upgrade
  22. yeah i plan on eventually upgrading thats why I got the deltec, fits in the RSM and also will be fine for my 400 litre upgrade eventually
  23. conch for less than 200, you could have a 150 halide with brand new bulb in your standard hood,I am in the middle of trying to get a spare hood to mod which I will put on when the weather gets a little colder here as its still F@#kn hot here. and I dont have a chiller. I have pulled apart the hood and it would take less than a hour to do. VERY EASY. Did you end up getting that deltec?
