    T5 Lighting

My T5's are 1150mm long as well. (Arcadia) Cant find a any bigger than that. Agree with Steve, Stagger them T5 Ballasts All the ballasts (Electronic) I have looked at only control 2 lamps, which isnt too bad as mine are on seperate timers anyway /Bruce
  6. Jebo Tanks as Marine, there is a (Should Be) warning inside the cover If you are using the tank with SW then you must add a glass cover. This helps stop lights getting rusty I gather Cheers /Bruce
  7. Just had a look at what is being sold here in the Arcadia Line. Petware NZ is the sole distributer for Arcadia In NZ T5 End Caps - Not Available T5 End Caps attached to controller - Available IP Rating looks like 6-7 If you want them then you will have to import /Bruce
  8. With corys look at the dorsal fin Female fin is rounded and the male has a pointed fin, (Harder to see the difference in some species) Female bigger than the male Hope this helps /Bruce
  9. Too right, We did 10 dives with Tranquility Island Dive, but those 2 would be top of the list, another one I enjoyed was Lionfish gardens... Just for the Lionfish it was worth it. /Bruce
  10. Love Diving Best Places..... All the warm ones where you dont need a wetsuit Vanuatu... Pauls Rock, Moso Caves probably the best out of the lot for me W Samoa... Dive Site called "The Fish Market" heaps of turtles, VERY large fish, great drift dive did I mention 27 degree water temp Hawkes Bay, well just about evey dive is a night dive  , but if you get a good day you cant beat it. /Bruce
  11. Pies Wrote Most people arent as anti retail as Pies, No protest from me if you want to save a few bucks and import, deal with warranty issues from over seas, pay duties GST, internal freight etc Its a wonder you go to the effort of buying Visi therms from your LFS, should import them and save yourself a fortune Yes I do own a pet store (retiring next week after 6 months in business to go and spend my fortune) /Bruce
  12. How about this No Imports, buying equipment from NZ Suppliers, off the shelf, makes it easy How about the following laguna pond pump $Cant remember say $250 Plastic Containers x 2 = $50 Heater Eheim Jager 300 watt $75 Next Lighting?
  13. I am running a Fluval 404 on a 550L tank, absolutely no problems at all, good flow rates, even when the filter is dirty. Yes you do get good flow rates on the Jebo as well, but at the end of the day you are paying for quality with the fluval. Eheim etc. Another option is the Aqua One cannisters, not much more than the Jebos, and would stand a little more punishment Bottom line, you get what you pay for MTCW /Bruce
  14. You guys ar paying far too much :-) My rate is $2.50 each +gst /Bruce
  15. Cant wait, go and buy some cycle from your LFS Speeds up the process /Bruce
  16. Rams, very nice, Blue Rams I assume, should be absolutely fine with the discus. They are a dwarf cichlid and can be shy at first They are not he easiest cichlid to keep, good water quality and good food is essential. Good luck Bruce
  17. Hi Retail price on u/g heaters (Root Heaters) Red Sea Brand from memory 2 Sizes to suit 100l tank approx $160 to suit 400l tank approx $200 /Bruce

  19. We had Silver Dollars spawnin in a 250l aquarium a few years back Look Great Dont They  White Eggs, yes infertile /Bruce
  20. Caryl Said Quite Correct, another thing to remember is Some LFS will buy bulk community flake and sell in clear plastic bags. UV will break down the nutritional value of your food, keep all food in the plastic container it was brought in MTCW /Bruce

    Allowed??

If You Were Caught, and its a pretty good chance you would be, Count on at least the following Fine (Quite a large one) Criminal Conviction Probabale removal of every fish you have for Inspection (Costs Involved In This As Well) Is it worth it for 50 Fish? No MTCW /Bruce
  22. Make sure you keep a lid on the tank, this helps keep the air in the tank warm, if the the air is too cold the young fish can get infections in the labyrinth.. Well Done and Good Luck Bruce
  23. Yep, the tubes are wierd sizes, Kongs NZ are the only wholesaler we can get these from They are common on Aqua One and Jebo Tanks Usually replacements come only in Cool White, cant remember the K rating at the moment Electrical Wholesalers, good luck, if you can find them its packs of 10 (Retail pack) Bruce
  24. Hi IMHO a 200 watt heater in a 60l tank would be fine we have 200 watt heaters in all of our tropical tanks (Around 70 liters), if you have the heater then use it. 100-150 watt would be about right for that size tank, the is not much difference in cost between any of the heaters It would not cope in a 250 littre tank, use a 300 watt for that one Bruce
  25. It could be a cross also, plattys and swords will inter breed /Bruce
