  2. maybe its a cut that has got infected, maybe something like furan 2 would be good to use?? sharn can probably help out more.... I would do a water change on your community tank in the mean time untill you hear back from sharn or someone else
  3. your lfs can order one in for you they might even have them in stock
  4. I have platties and a fighter together with no rips or tears or anything everyones happy, I have about 10 platies and babies with my figher, and also have two tiger barbs in there too with no problems and two kribs. Depends abit on the fish though, but i have never come across a agressive fighter
  5. Hey there, :bounce: Your tank looks really nice for a cool water tank with goldies, and i agree the fins are beautiful! I think thats the best gold fish tank i have seen to date, the plants look great!!! I don't think anyone was trying to offend you just trying to find out more info I am curious though how you did cycle your tank, I have personally just done the "normal" cycle over a few weeks and i haven't heard of a tank being cycled so quickly....if you don't mind i would love to know the trick/secret?? and i'm sure others would too
  6. Yep i agree with all of the above!!! and i think you need to get more platties, they will soon realise that you are the one who brings food Plus you can get really beautiful colours. Danios aren't shy and are active, try adding about 5 or if you want nice colours you might be able to get hold of some of the red danios
  7. Are you feeding live blood worms?
  8. Bunnings has it or gardening centres should too, its really good and i recommend it too!!!!
  9. No  Ok Maybe  Yes!! hehe GREAT TANKS EVERYONE!!!! CUMON EVERYONE ELSE TOO!!! DON"T BE SHY!!! :bounce: :bounce:
  10. Bulbs are usually recommended to be replaced every year so i have read and seems to be a good guideline. Also lights should be on about 8-10 hours a day but everyone differs with there different lifestyles. Most those plants seem pretty hardy IME so i'm not sure what has gone wrong?? How long was it before they died? and did you get them from your LFS?? gud luck
  11. Clown loaches are great for snails, I have 6 and i don't have a snail in sight They are a bit sensitive and are prone to whitespot due to poor water conditions and stress....I haven't had a problem with it though (touches wood) zebra and skunk loaches and yoyo i guess are all good at snails also so they might be a better option since they max out at 10ish cms rather than 30ish cms like the clowns. Mine are in a planted tank and don't harm the plants at all!!! Hope that helps and others can fill in any parts i have missed
