If it helps there was one in Hollywood fish farm today, was tempted to buy it but thought it might be better going to someone who had another to pair etc, and my tank isn't completely ready, it was $110. Hope this helps someone

I was looking in the practical aquarium book and spotted a red albino deltatail that I would LOVE to have a tank of and breed, I suppose these are the same fish you are suggesting. I wonder if there would be a demand for them. 8)

yeah I've been thinking about albino guppies for a while, are good quality ones able to be imported? The problem is my tank of 300L will look a bit bare witha couple of guppies in it :lol: I was also thinking the tropheous species and some of those cats from NZ discus, or even altum angels, the list goes on............

Yeah something that isn't seen often would be good. I am slowly researching all the available plecos and have contacted some importers and am thinking of breeding them. Never heard of rice fish. I just think rare fish would be fun to try to breed and a nice display too :lol:

Yeah I think your right, I said these fish are extremely rare but he said that he could get some in. But if they aren't able to be imported he must have them mistaken for something else. Maybe I should say they are 'Hypancistrus zebra' and see if he is still able to import THEM THEN. I have heard of alot of types of zebras. Shame these nice ones are endangered. On your last forum about them they said they were imported but commanded $600, were they captive bred or straight from the wild????

Hi guys, I know these fish are extremely rare but I have heard that 'zebra plecos' are able to be imported, unsure of the price but probably extremely expensive. I was wondering if the person confused this for the peru zebra pleco that is able to be imported. So are the true striped zebras able to be imported and if so what high price are they? I know they are extremely expensive but just curious if they are able to be imported. Thanks for your help

Sorry, can't remember now, they have gone. The petshop I got them from doesn't focus on fish and therefore don't have any clues on pricing. However, I couldn't believe my eyes either and did match them with a picture of a true altum and they seemed identical. I could have been wrong but even the description was 'Peru Altum Angels' and the lady said that they had just been bought in and were imported I think.

Are they those golden banded ones that were in jansens for about $100 each a while ago. I was told they would be great fish to breed as they are rare. Are these those same fish? Do the parents eat the young?

Is there any demand for NZ bred Peru Altum angels in this market??? I manged to find a group that someone had just bought in the LFS and I noticed a pair alone chasing the rest off. I quickly purchased them for $30 and managed to breed from them, unfortunately other fish ate the eggs (and/or young) although they all seem fertilised. One of the parents died for unknown reasons and I got rid of the other. But, if people in NZ are wanting some I may go back into breeding them in a tank on their own. What do you think???

Hi Matt, I am going to have this tank set up just for the swords. the electric labidos are existing members of the tank and I am selling them at the moment, but was wondering if they would be OK for a couple of days. There is plenty of room and the labidos are going ASAP. Thanks

I am getting rid of my two electric labidos as I have purchased albino koi swordtails, but was wondering if they need to go quickly or no hurry. The tank is approx 90L and the labidos are only about 6-7 cm. I see the real occasional quick nip during feeding but the swordtail then takes shelter away from it. One of the male swordtails have a slight rip on its top fin, but I could have purchased it or it may have been attacked by another male when introduced in the tank. Please help tell me if they need to be moved urgently, they are currently listed on here for offers but a couple of people are interested but can't come up here for a while. I would hate the swordtails to die on me, they are rather expensive. Any suggestions would be great!!!!
