Chim, just to confirm what I'm looking at. You got those four powerpoints connected to the relay in the middle. The relay's signal is from the green cord going to the timer and power is the white cord going to a RCD? What sort of relay is it? You would get a decent amount of current surge when you start your halides simultaneously :lol:

550L total, planning 2x 250W heaters Do the controllers have a single heating output plug? I was planing to run the heaters on seperate GFIs so if one trips there is still redundancy. Has anyone got theirs setup like this?

I guess it depends on what you use your quarantine tank for. Either as a sterile environment so no nasties are transfered to main system or as a place for your fish to become immune in a semi-medicated environment.

How effective are UV sterilizers on a quarantine tank? They kill suspended bacteria pretty good, no real need for any microalgae in a quarantine tank. Why don't many people use them for this purpose?

Wouldn't a natural source of nutrient removal be good and take a load off the live rock and skimmer? What about plants like mangroves? What plant type stuff should be kept in the refugium?
