Thanks Fay and Chimera I will try and get hold of some reef booster and give it a try. I am currently using Seachem Reef Plus so I will also do some research on both products. Thought I would post some pics of the new additions, not in the display tank but in my QT tank waiting for the big fish only tank to finished. The Dog face (black spotted) puffer was a surprise pressie today from my Partner..... It is so cute you almost feel like giving it a cuddle :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: Every time I come out of the spare room (where this tank is) I have a big smile on my face. The Blackbar filefish was a pressie for my partner for Fathers day :roll: some peoples taste in fish are real surprising. Looks better when the tailfin is spread out. The highfin Blennie was a pressie for myself as it was so cute and the thought the QT needed a good clean

I use a QT mainly to get the fish fat and used to my feeding timetable and what I feed my fish some fish can be picky eaters at first :evil: and /or very shy :roll: aswell so its a good way to familarise yourself with that fishs habits and for them to get used to you. Everyone to their own...............After I had major losses when I first started I have pretty much stuck to a routine with new fishs and havn't had a loss or fish disease since I also use the tank for any aggressive fish that need to be socialised again :evil:

Don't be in too much of a hurry, the thing I always remember being told when going Marine is you need patience. I waited a good 2 months before I even looked at adding anything in my tank.

MY hospital tank is kept pretty basic, no sand and just a rock display for the fish to hide in, luckily I have never had to dose the tank yet with any medication. I have a divider for the tank which was used when I was mating my Maroon clowns. Currently the tank has 2 occupents, Highfin blennie and blackbar Filefish they will stay there until the big tank is ready. 50/60 litre tank cannister filter heater (heater guard) lighting from my old aqua one tank I use it for new fish, to make sure they are nice and fat before they go in the display tank and they are used to my feeding regimen. Also to make sure they are healthy before adding to my display. I also use it for any fish that get a bad attitude :evil: I have been using the tank for 8 months and it has paid for itself many times over. A very successful mating of my maroons clowns is my happiest moment :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Sounds like the same test kit i use, it will only tell you less than 0.25 so there is probly no ammonia in the tank.

I thought the same when I first got it, but that is its normal colour. It also has purple tips that you can't see in the photo.

Here are some updates. The Anemone is doing a slight move since photo was taken Sun polyp is going great guns as we have it under the shade of a rock and it gets fed during the night feed once I turn the stream back on.

Salifert coral calcium right now while im trying to get my mag back up and promote the coraline algae growth 10-15ml every 3 days as its pretty low right now 300 Once the mag has stabalised I will return to using the Reef complete by Seachem

I think he is dead on with what he says in this post and the other one about the maturity. Especially with the things I have had happen to my tank since day one. It's almost like I am reading a diary written by myself :lol: :lol:
