Some of my fish have spots on them, but though you would think it would be easy to tell i have just dont know if it is white spot they have or if parts of the ceramic biological media have made it into the tank. What i do know is that i am not having much luck with my Gouramis (dont know what is going on there), the rest are alright apart from the spots....(ether way useing white spot med with a temperature of 28deg)....still live in hope it is not white spot.
My Gourami has marks (lumps) in 5 or 6 differant places. Is it coming down with something or is that other Gourami i see chasing it around leaving marks on it as it takes a nip?
Yes they seem to like the guppies....as long as they leave the male alone he is the only one i like, the females are so plain. But like i said somthing is missing and im not sure what to do to fix it.
Just a note........Dont have a artificial tree stump with a Bristlenose catfish because even with bog wood in the tank they still eat the paint work off. In fact you you could say they like that better than the bog wood.
It has taken a long time (6 Months) but my tank is now up and going. We set it up with plants etc etc and then TRYED to let it do its thing for 4 weeks and then put some fish in, but as the tank came with 6 free fish i lasted 4 days and had to put them in. (4 Show guppies & 2 platys, dont like them they look out of place) so in they went along with 2 Bristlenose catfish.
So in the frist 2 weeks i lost 2 guppies but found 5 babies.
Week 4 i put in 6 Cherry barbs (2m 4f) now i have just put in 6 Angels.
The tank needs time for the plants to take off though some are doing well now....
But something is missing from the tank.. i know i might have to give away 2 of my Angels when they get bigger but i was thinking about Jewel-3 Striped Rainbows or Gourams for colour but with the size the Angels get too i think that there will be no room.
The tank is 130ltrs 62x39x72
Just use extreme caution when adding them to the tank because they can be heavy enough to break the glass. Try lava rock if you can get it, it's lighter than most other rocks.
thankyou that is what i have been trying to find out..my heater has a light on it to let you know if it is going. With the heat in the house from the fire it dosnt go much temp on minder is showing 25.9. The heater is set at 24
i know what temp is best for my fish...what i want to do is set the high temp alarm and the low temp alarm eg.at 30 the high alarm gos off....say 20 the low alarm gos off so there must be a range of temps that they would be alright at.
Angels, guppies, jewel rainbow, cherry barbs and bristlenose....as i have said temp range is 18 to 28 but to set the alarm on the minder ther has to be a temp that is the top and bottom line before you have got heater problem.
got a aqua-minder but i am unsure what wold be a good temp range for the high low temp alarm. I was thinking 18-29deg c (temp range for fish in my tank will be on web sites are 18 min for the guppies and 28 max for the Angels)........Did note that my heater is at 24 but the minder says 25.9
I can get a glass one that is standed. for $20..or this seel one with controlled external thermostat for $40.....i guess im asking about the external control is it a better one?....it is 150w the tank is 130ltr as the tank is a Aqua and the stainless heater is too, would make it better also?
What is best a glass heater or a stainless steel one with a controlled external thermostat $20 for one $40 for the other.....and if the stainless one is better do i still need a thermo or a aqua minder?
