How can you tell the sex of baby Angel Fish and Bristlenose Catfish?

Thanks i was hoping that i would only need gravel, now i just have to sort out some plants and let that sit for some time and then in gos the fish

So what is best gravel or sand or a mix (sand for base & then gravel). I would of thught the sand might not be to good for the filter.

I was going to have a Bristlenose as a bottom feeder unless there is a better one? no more than 5 inches

So Caryl would you then suggest that i forget about the neon rainbows and diamond tetras then and just increase the cherry's to 2 or 3 pairs

yes i'm doing a 3 female to 1 male with the guppies and a 1 to 1 with the cherry barb...(this species is not inclined to shoal like other barbs) The gourami's are 2 to 1.

Thanks for the help, here is the list for my 130ltr tank.... 6 Angels,3 Blue Gouramis & 3 Dawafs. 4 Guppies,3Platies,2Cherry Barbs and 2 Bristlenose catfish. If there is room i'll try some Neon Rainbows and some Diamond Tetras, That would put another 10 fish in the tank. I'll start with the Angels and Bristlenose first and work up to the rest.

What if the Bettas were in say be a 2female 1 male set up would they leave the Angels alone?

What would be good to put in a tank with Angels so to fill up tank levels and add colors to it.

Is there any truth to the story that a new tank should be left to stand for 20 days before putting fish in?

The pet shop said that i could get away with 2 Females and 1 mail Betta with my above list with 2 or 3 Bronze cats as well. (i think that Bristlenose catfish would be better), But what i need is some larger fish that would set the tank off.

But if i was to just have one Female or one male betta in the tank then that sould be alright with the list i have?

As far as the guppies go i might stay with males only. Now is there a web site for fish that you can get in New Zealand...no point working out what im going to put in the tank only to find you can not get this kind or that kind in NZ

yer more than one female betta as long as there are no fin nipping fish but you can only have one male...so they tell me

so far i have come up with, black tetras,glowlight tetras, female bettas, guppies and platies and im not sure cardinal tetras all in the same tank

What would anyone suggest as a good combination of fresh water tropical in a 130ltr AR620T Aqua One tank for me to start with as im a beginer.

The books i have been reading gos on about the water surface eg 75ltr long tank has a larger exposed water surface than a 75ltr deep tank...better oxygen,more fish etc. The pet shop tells me that the filters that come with the Aqua One will fix that and are also as good as a undergravel filter. (filter comes to only 1/2 way down tank.)

Is this tank all right because it is a high tank. 130lts The pet shop that i'm getting it from said that it is because of the filters, but the books i have read say that it is not. :roll:

Do you think The Aqua One AR620T is a good tank or because it is a deep (high) tank i sould see if the pet shop would let me change it for another one while im still paying it off... also a would like to find a site that has just things about New Zealand Fish sold here,food........How doz somone in the States know what is best here in Kiwi land?

can all the above fish live in the same tank with goldfish?

Im looking for a list of goldfish you can get in New Zealand, so far i have black moor, bubble eye, comet, pearlscale and oranda. web page would be good so i can see them.

I've had goldfish for 4 months now and lost 2 this week. I have a 40ltr tank and i am now paying off a 135ltr one. It comes with 6 tropical,lights,filters stand and decorations. Now what i dont know is wether to keep the tropical fish or stay with the gold fish. I like colors, which tropicals have, but i dont like the 3 year life span they have when you can get 14years + with goldfish. In Invercargill there is about 3 kinds (4 colors) of goldfish. Can you even get those off the wall colors in New Zealand or will tropicals have to be it.Tropicals have a wide range off species and colors. :-?

tryed the salt drops didnt work even thuogh it was looking better it still died over night
