    I posted this on sunday http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/dont-f ... 19754.html
  2. My remaining 4 out of 6 are doing great. 3 females and 1 male. i even have fry up in the plants there somewhere!!!
  3. oh, mustnt be hairgrass then lol. Get a pic
  4. Yea when i buy terracotta pots for my tank(s) i just give them a quick rinse under some water, maybe give them a rub with my hand or a brush if im feeling extra picky, otherwise just chuck them in. they will fiz for a little while when you first put them in as the air needs to get out of them....
  5. pH of 7.4 should be sweet, as long as its stable Thats the most important part. How long have they been off colour? may be just a phase they are going through, otherwise could have some sort of disease. Cant realy treat until you know what it is though. Got a quarantine tank? Added any new fish lately? water parameters sweet? How old are they? dwarf g's quite often dont have the strongest genes so could be a bit weak?? HTH
  6. Might have to pay someone to come look after them? Im looking after a guys tanks ATM. His partner feeds them every night and doses the ferts in the planted tank, And i just go over every month and water change all the tanks. One of the tanks is a 1000L with an oscar, big plecos, convicts, clown knife, and other cichlids, so its a bit of a challenge to water change, but its all good. takes me two hours a month to water change a 1000L + sump, 2 x 300L's + sump, and a 200L planted (inlcuding trim and co2 bottle change) Hes away on an army trip for 6 months.... You just need to find someone willing to do it, and who you trust with your fish.....
  7. LFS 'hairgrass' is usually much taller as it has been grown emerse.
  8. Use hairgrass, its awesome once it forms a big carpet. for example check out antwans old tank. He had a mean carpet and it looked wicked. Im not sure what that plant is as i cant see it properly but it could be crypt balansae if its crypt like and long... they are quite nice plants.
  9. saying a '6ft tank' is sort of slang term though, We say 6ft tank but only mean 6ft long.... if you were to get real sceptical you would say "i have a 6ft long, blah blah wide and blah blah deep tank". If you were to say i have a 4ft cube, then it would be taken as 4 ft x 4 ft x 4 ft.... a 4ft square tank though, would be 4 ft x 4 ft x ...ft. Anyway, who cares?
  10. well a 4ft 'cube' tank would be 4 ft wide, long and tall as drifty called it... he should have said 4 ft 'square' tank... cubes are 3d...... very nice btw....
  11. nice! you have a heap of fish in there! what size is the tank? (i know it will say in the thread somewhere but i cant be bothered reading through it)
  12. sure is. my angels go CRAZY over mozzy larvae. a very good source of live food. they will get your angels going!
  13. oh and some live food, and/or cooler water changes may trigger them..... changes often trigger them off....
  14. oh sorry, i mean why post this topic in two places?
  15. my 4 are going fine. all 3 females pregnant. When i do a water change they nibble on my hand...... very friendly. get along well with the angels, corys and kribs
  16. shot DG! very nice pair.... hows the planted tank coming along? give us some updated pics please!!!!
  17. Nope, flouros Yer, i got rid of it cos im sick of just stalks....
  18. haha, sorry but no. Would be a bit of a hassle to send though anyway!
  19. And thankful that you knew a guy with big muscles to help lift it inside **whistles whilst looking at ceiling** 8)
