  1. Hi. Have a peek here.... http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials.htm
  2. NLS Community, Hikari Cichlid pellets, Nutrafin Complete Food sinking tabs, broken up spirulina tabs. My Betta isn't fussy 8)
  3. Hi Jaide. My community tanks get flake in the morning and NLS Community Formula in the evening along with a couple of sinking tabs for the Corys. They get frozen bloodworm and Discus tucker on Sundays after the water change. My Malawi Cichlid tanks get NLS Cichlid Formula twice a day with some flake and Hikari floating pellets every now and again for variety. The Malawi fry tank gets a random mixture of de-capped brine shrimp, frozen Daphnia and flake, three times a day. All of my tanks get a Spirulina tab or two in the evenings for the BNs. I also have a pepper grinder full of all sorts of dry fish foods, some floating and some sinking. I grind that into my Guppy tank and my Betta tank twice a day.
  4. Sometimes it's easier to see the difference when viewed from above.
  5. Hi Cam. The females are usually larger and more rounded than the males.
  6. I'd be getting a bigger tank....75 litres is very small for Goldfish IMO. And I'd want to get that Ammonia down to 0.00. The fact that you have Ammonia at all shows that the biological filtration isn't fully mature yet.

    using sand

    Hi alanco. It depends on the sand but I think a white sand will probably raise the pH Have a look at this.... http://www.cichlid-forum.com/videos/cleaning_sand.php HTH
  12. A Katana would be too long for my plant. I could do a blade around 370mm including the tang, but using my process would cost too much for a one off casting.
  13. Most of our work is for marine and food handling applications. Jetboat impellors, components for meat working chains, agricultural machinery and food processing plants. All our castings are stainless steel alloys, anything from a 304 grade steel to steels hard enough to make knives from.
  14. Hi Dubbo Is it possible that the missing scales are from wounds? Whatever the cause is you've started out by doing the right thing....water changes. I'd keep doing them for a while because it will help to prevent secondary infections. What is your normal water change routine and how long has the tank been set up for? What other fish are in the tank? Have you tested for ammonia, nitrites and nitrates? The wood may be discolouring the water with tannins but that won't cause any harm.
  15. At the moment I own a small foundry. I spend my days playing with molten wax and stainless steels. It can be hell in the summer but nice'n'cosy in the winter

  20. Hi all. I guess that's up to you but I didn't. I have my pair in a tank that has heaps of Christmas Moss and several caves and crevices. In fact I came home from work today and I had a mate with me to show him the Cockatoos but the female was nowhere to be seen. I figured she might've spawned so I went on a little hunt for her. I peeled the backing from a corner, and on the back of a flower pot I saw this.... :bounce: I can't stop smiling
  21. I don't wanna wait 'til Christmas.........I want one now 8)
  22. Interesting pics......Thanks for sharing firefish :bounce:
