I'm happy to be corrected here, but I think the females have three pairs of legs with pincers and the males have two pairs. The extra set of nippers is to manipulate the eggs held under the tail.

I got them from Bunnings. I sprayed them with clear polyurethane and glued them on with Gorilla Glue.

Ouch. That's alot of fish to lose in one go My commiserations.

I've done something similar to Stellas tape idea. I made a frame by glueing wooden louvre strips to an old 4 footer. It came out looking almost new again.

Hi Spink. I'm waiting for Barrie to reply to this post I seem to remember him mentioning in an old thread something about a glass that has less of something in it, Silicon I think. This makes the glass better for photography but weakens it so it's no good for a large tank, so you make a small tank from it and temporarily put in the fish to be photographed.

Hi all. My pair spawned again this morning.....their third time :bounce: . The first time they spawned the eggs were eaten, the second time they got to the wriggler stage before being eaten so this time I've removed the adults. I was lucky enough to see them start laying and I snapped some quick pics. They aren't the best but I didn't want to disturb them with the flash too much. I had to get to work so I couldn't watch them for very long.... but what I did get to see was very cool 8)
