  1. Try now Caryl it should be fine now they have changed Yahoo since I've been there last and made it more complex to use
  2. The Marlborough Aquarium club held a very successful pond and tank competition today I would like to thank those responsible for organising the event, also all who entered and those that came along for a look, especially our club members from away Esmay, Leanne and Paula from Ashburton and Tina from Rangioura, its great to see you all. Thanks for taking the time to come up for the day. Check out the photos on the net at http://au.f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/cbperformance2000/album?.dir=/5d31 It was a cool day(even if one of the members did get lost) 8)
  3. Thanks for you help guys and galls don't know what I would do with out you. Mistery illness now apears to have gone as quick as it came with no trace of anything wrong
  4. No I can't see any holes, there maybe but must be very small the white bits look a little like 1 mill long pieces of white thread poking out
  5. Just over 12 months ago I lost the female of a breeding pair of discus. Since then the remaining male turned black in colour always hid at the back of the tank never coming out not even for food. This fish became very, very thin its fins were always down and really looked as though it should have been put out of its misery. I tried everything I could think of to return this fish to heath, nothing seemed to work so I gave up on it. Still feed it cared for its tank in the usual way. This fish stayed this way for at least a year, why it did not die I do not know. One night about a month ago I entered my fish room for the usual nightly feed and maintenance and was greeted but this discus at the front of the tank, proud as punch and really thinking he was someone special his fins erect and in spawning colours. I could not believe my eyes this fish was eating everything I gave it and looked very healthy. Tonight I entered my fish room again for the nightly routine discus rushing to the front of the tank to greet me and I found 3 white protrusions on the left side of it's head one on the gill plate level with and just behind the eye about half a mill in diameter and about 1 mill in length, the other two higher on the head and smaller the fish is not distressed at all and is still bright and perky. Does anyone have any suggestions on what this may be? :-?
  6. I have found what you have written very interesting. You are obviously very knowledgeable on this subject, please tell us more. I think we should as fish keepers learn more about our Native fish.Caryl maybe Charles could write an article for you to publish in the next Aquarium World
  7. Tell us more-Tank size, requirements, etc I have had an interest in native fish for some time. I too don't have the room or a spare tank at the moment but who nows what may happen.
  8. Some Crypts will do fine in shaded areas of the tank
  9. I breed quite a few Guppys about 6 years ago. I did experiment with temperature, and it did have an effect on sex, but don't remember what temp breed the most of what sex.
  10. Yes egglayers and it doesn't look as thought they have been breed in captivity
