its great to see someone else has discovered mana island, Ive been out there 3 times in the last 5 years and it is a wonderful island....going back next year.....great photos....makes me island sick....haha

I see wonderworld aquarium in rotorua have expanded........If anyone goes down there ask to speak with Harold (the owner) he has been in marines for about 30 years and knows alot......helped set up kelly tarltons...a very nice man...set up a marine tank for me when I lived in rotorua about 10 years ago. just four weeks ago I disscovered 5 small white pinhead size growths on my rocks...now I know what they are ...very small toadstool corals, they've grown to the size of a a few centermetres in hight and i can very clearly see what they ....its really exciting when you can see your tank doing what naturally happens in nature.....I don't know why or where they came from...but the growths are very close to two of my large toadstools.

don't know how i would go about fraging a blue ridge...or where to cut it....

lately my blue ridge coral has really taken off...growing at a fast rate.....lots of white tips and it looks fab ( cause they are an unusual growing coral anyway)I was told to add calcium for the blue ridge coral but hes doing fine without it....the only coral in my tank that (requires) calcium.

well guys Ive been putting vodka in my tank for two weeks now...to get rid of that nasty slime algie and.......85% of the red slime has gone...every day the rocks are cleaner....no affect on the corals or fish!!!!The only problem I have is the lack of vodka for me to drink.....not much left...... warick.

The swinging arm type are faulty....I had one and after getting a refractometre I realilised that the salt in the tank was out by 13 points...so instead of the reading being 0.025 on the swinging arm type the reading on the refractometre read the salt as 0.037!!!! So dont bother getting a hydrometre....you need a refractomtre....about $150.

hey guys yesterday I found three shell fish in my sump...they (look) like cats eyes with a round shell and white underneath...anyone have any idea what they would be??? God knows how they got in my sump.... Warick.

thanx brian...hehe I know....going to ring up hollywood and jansens today and maybe go visit them......can't afford the $999-00 jansens are asking for the deltec they have for sale....but I'll see what I can afford to get...maybe add another skimmer and have two going untill I win lotto....

Morning everyone.Does anyone have a secondhand protein skimmer that they want to sell? My tank is 5 foot by 2 by 2 foot and I need a bigger skimmer to cope with the load...at the moment I only have a via aqua which is crap and doesnt do the job at all!!!! its only made for a 200 litre tank and mine is 540+ litres. If anyone can help would be great. Warick.

There's a plumbing place in franklin road (ponsonby) can't remember the name of it....but they have most things for plumbing a marine tank...andrew from jansens put me onto it when I was setting up my system.

Since I took the bio balls out of my sump a few days ago Ive had tiny air bubbles being released back into the main tank...it seems to happen when the water from the overflow hits the water in the sump...does anyone know a way of stopping it happen.....the water goes through filter wool before it drops into the sump. Warick.

I found that flatworm crawling all over my coral this morning and caught it ...got it out of the tank.

Well getting the kole tang is the best investment ive made for my tank in ages.......half the red slime algie in the tank has been eaten and im sure he'll eat the rest of it too....hungry little bugger.....starting to see what else is on the rocks apart from slime. Warick.

hey guys do the aiptasia anemones have a sting??? it just that I have two in my tank and one is touching my large mushroom and since its been touching it my mushroom hasnt come out for over a week.... Warick.
