Does anyone want some rock and sand??? I have about 40kilos of rock left over from when I set up my tank that Im not going to use and about 5 klios of white sand.the rock and sand is NOT live. If anyone wants it they can have it FREE...its taking up room that I need. Warick.

Well Ive decided NOT to feed my tang zucchini....thanx for the advice from the group...rang hollywood and they have nori and spirilina so im off to get some today. Thanx again guys. Warick.

thanx for your suggestions guys...once again a great help....sorry no lights in the sump....MR BIG ( the kole tang) has eaten his way along the back glass of the tank in two days....yay no need to clean the back glass again....... :lol:

Thats what ive read that kole tangs will eat...after doing some research before buying the tang.That and nori as a variation to their diet.

Can someone please tell me what the proper preparation of zucchine is before feeding it to my kole tang? I read that you blanch it then freeze it (before) feeding it to the fish...is that correct??? Thanx Warick.

Well I got my new kole tang from jansens....and they've got heaps of new fish in store...my favourite that they have is an atlantic blue tang, but its out of my reach at $349....but what a beautiful fish...and they've also got royal grammes in store and a few triggars.

im really excited cause today I get my new kole tang for my reef...Ive been after one for a while and jansens have two...so off I got to collect one.Hopefully it will make a difference to my algie problems...but if not I dont care because they are a beautiful fish.but heres hopeing..... Warick.

hollywood has them and they will cut one to suit the size you want.

Well I have found it to be a flatworm but as yet to find out which species. I found a wesight to help www.seaslugforum.net so I hope to id it in the next few days. Warick.

hey guys Ive just found what appears to be a sea slug in my tank climbing all over the rocks....its about a inch long, white on top and yellow underbelly with two little bump thingys on its head....is it dangerous to corals and the like ??or is it harmless? Warick.

Wasp thankyou....Im doing some work on the tank tomorrow (day off) so I'll try and get as much of the red devil out of the tank.Ive heard about the (vodca) thing before BUT I think I'll need the vodca more than the tank does afterwards....haha... SG .24...temp 24....phos 0.....nitrate 20.....amonia 0......ph 8.2...I changed the position of the powerhead behind the rocks and put it up on top of the rocks...it has increased the waterflow everywhere in the tank.Yes I want to get a tunze , but where can I get one in NZ? Thanx guys Warick.

Your right my tank is about 6 months old...and i would rather find out what the problem is instead of throwing something in the tank that might distroy everything....apart from the red algie the tank (seems ) fine.....even my clowns are breeding....I did a 130 litre water change yesterday and after a bit of observing the system am going to add another pump into the tank as there is a dead area down one end...(the overflow end).the tank is 5 foot long by 2 feet by 2 feet.The sump is 3 foot by 1.5 feet wide.running a protein skimmer...11 watt uv and an returning water to the tank at 3420 litres an hour.apart from that I have one pump in one corner pushing water up one end and another pump down behind the rocks....im gona put the pump thats down (behind) the rocks up high in the other corner of the tank pushing water in the other direction.and then go buy another pump to add to the tank.And maybe do another waterchange next week.Am I on the right track?? hey guys what do you suggest as a cure for ridding a tank of red slim algie?? talked to the guys at hollywood today...they said there are opions....a product called Bio digest is one they suggested, has anyone used it and if so what are the effects?. Sorry for all the questions guys...but its best to know what others had done for there tanks...... what other options are there??? thanx Warick.
