there the pair of convicts i have, have got a couple of zebra danios swimmin in the tank but with the last/first batch of eggs they produced i didnt see one that hatched.what could this have been caused by, i didnt add anything while i could see eggs in the tank. are convicts mouth brooders or not.

iv been told around 40-50 will do so i will stick roughly that. i wont be getting the tank till after next week,(gotta save some money ) thanks to all who i Pm'd

yeh i too think a couple will look kool in the octagonal tank. i have four in a hexagonal tank and have no worries with them harrassing other fish and they are the smallest of angel, i keep them with corys, b/n catfish, silvertip and serpae tetras.

i moved them in and out of the tank they are in today and my male is normal blue/purpled coloured, while the male/female looking at it was pale with two horizontal stripes down the length of its body. i cant post a pic yet as the ones iv taken are all blurry.i think it could be a female but im not too sure.they look interested in each other but dont look like they flare up at each other.is there anywhere/anyone i could take it to in auckland to find out.

ok iv had it for a day no and its in the same tank as my other male(not in the same space) but now it looks like a male but its got a big stomeach area and has alot bigger body than my other 2 males.

How can you tell the difference between male and female fighters? Im asking this as i brought a male today at the fish shop but it doesnt have the same body as my other males,its body is more rounder and it has a horizontal line on its body, can someone help me by saying how you can sex fighters.

How many guppies could i have in a 105l aquarium with 3-4 b/n's and with a aquaclear 300 filter that pumps about 1000l per hour. Also where abouts could i find in auckland good quality guppies?

does anyone no of where i can get some guppies from in the auckland area as im in the process of setting up a 100l tank for just guppies. if anyone knows of anyone getting rid of any or selling them cheaply please pm me with some details.

Thank you for al that helped me out, i looked tonight at the underside of the cave roof and found quite a few eggs that the female is now fanning and the male isn't allowed near them now.i guess with convicts its a matter of paitience.

In my Jebo 338 i have a mixture of female and male guppies plus a few b/n catfish, corys and kuhli plus a male siamese fighter.today when i came home from school i found that one of my guppies has a huge chunk missing from his tale and his tale looks a bit like a( < )now. would the fighter of caused this.

This is a pic of the Royal Blue Peacocks that Jansens sold me and what i wana no the scientific name of. Also please confirm to me whether they are arent royal blue peacocks. Also if u can tell me if i have a true pair and which sex each one is

Since i last posted i have added 3 bristle nose catfish, a pair of bumble bee cichlis and 1 male and 2 female auratus. Any other reccommendations or comments would be appreciated.

Its a one foot tank, how many danios would be good then?

yes the tnk is only for them to breed in and once they do ill move them into my cichlid tank. the male is about 7cm and the female is a couple of cm smaller.

how do i keep em fed because i just put in a few white worms and they have both still not come out of thier cave. i got them on saturday(6Aug). what else could i fed them and encourage them to come out of the cave.

Iv got no pics of my livebearers as such but i do hav 10 Male - 12 Female Guppies with a few babies 4 Female Platys Pair of Mollies Pair of Swordtails -
Thanks tanksman. yeh i realised bout the japanese rush before i brough them but i am fine with it at this stage. ah yes they are from stone & waterworld. very cheap and have a great effect.
