I need to buy an airpump, but I don't want to go down to the petshop and buy something that is most likely very noisy and a rip off :lol:

I need something quiet and powerful - it is to feed three 2.2liter Brine Shrimp boxes, a sponge filter for a small tank, and possibly also in my Apistogramma viejita tank

Tested an Eheim at the pet shop. It sure was quiet...but I heard due to poor design something goes wrong with it after a year or two. I'm not sure if that's true - if not, I thought it was a good product, albeit pricey.

i have a few of the Hailea ones & the seem to be good. I have had no problems although i haven't had them very long.

Don't touch a compressor if you need it to be quiet.. The eheim ones to get recommended as being quiet quite often so might be worth a nudge.

I have a jebo double outlet one quiet as had it for about 3 years still the same pressure as when it was brand new

Also keep in mind airpumps frequently start out nice and quiet then get louder as they age, their diaphragms get stiffer, valves get more worn... It's not really poor design, it's natural wear.

Nothing beats an eheim. 2 year warranty if not 3 I think.

I have a couple of eheims, both have been absolutely brilliant! wouldn't hesitate in recommending them!

My eheim has never given me trouble and neither have my Aqua Ones, the eheim is slightly quieter but alot more expensive.

I run a couple of AquaOne percission airpumps and they are fantastic. Not too noisy, cheap and a 3 year warranty.
