Hi Alan, Congratulation on the babies! Are they just normal wee bristle nose or golden or albino?

I just got some bristlenose babies too! And i have found that they love frozen peas!

Take the shell off first and defrost them and chuck them in the tank.

I am feeding about 6 individual peas a day to 12, 1 inch babies and they are also getting brineshrimp that the other fry in the tank don't eat.

good luck and hope that helps.

I used to Feed them when they were young blanched vege's and shrimp pellets and Algae wafers. JBL wafers are great. Also If you could Put them next to a window or sumthing expossed to light then algae with grow they love that also. Make srue they have Drift wood in there as it Darkens the water and they feel more comfotable in the tank and also Because is contains fital Fibre they need to Become Strong and Healty Fishies!.

Good luck and have fun

Don't go near the Chinese Algae Eater, (CAE) they should be banned.

Almost useless at algae control and as they get older get into real bad habits.

SAE is the one to go for, the black line goes right through his tail to the "V"; I'm sure someone will put up a pic or direct you to where you can find one, and also give you the scientific name.

Thanyou for the helpful comments. It looked like a good idea at the time, still is I think. I have tried all sorts of combinations to get rid if the black beard. I noticed today (after maybe 3 months) that the black beard has reduced right back and been replaced with an algae the same but green, so I may still be cultivating food for the bristle noses, but I will grow them up a bit first.

Flourish excel has kicked Black Beard Algae out of my tank. Maybe your container contains water or diluted product? I was skeptical pouring this stuff thats about $100 a litre into the tank when it looks like water - But when you see the bba going purple then keeling over you know what you are paying for. Grows good plants too 8) - sorry to hijack - My baby bristlenoses love JBL novo tom and they also get courgette / zuchinni. Might try the peas though thanks for that.
