Where is the best place to get cleaner shrimp? In the Central North Island

your question is a bit bizzare jimmy. LFS's is obvious, if you want to see if someone has any to sell you would try the trade and exchange right?

Well rotorua, hamilton, auckland, tirau, Sort of central.

Auckland LFS's have them, or did the other time I was there. In fact I don't think I've seen Hollywood Albany, or Jansens Mt Eden without them.

I was hoping there would be someone out there that would be helpfull brian, like i was at bobs marine and they had them for $100. Something along those lines.

they are always pretty much the same price, and the shops in auckland pretty much always have them, and the auckland prices are usualy a little cheaper than the ones in other parts

$100 ?? how much would you normally pay for a cleaner shrimp. Mine cost $40

havent seen one for 40$ all the ones i have seen are about 70$ upwards

what amazes me is that these things all have such different prices,

for example small tang will cost 120+ and a clown will cost 50ish yet on the lists they are only a dollar or two different

The reason is that small fish are done at cost or at a loss, so you have to make it up with the bigger fish.

The price we pay for the fish is irrelevant in most cases; it is all the other costs that make up the final price of a fish.

$135 for a cleaner shrimp is over the top, normally cost about $50-$80

no im talking about small fish of the same size, big clown small tang same size different price

As mentioned price of fish is irrelevent.

You can only sell a clown for so much, so price of tangs will be more so clowns , damsels etc can be lower.
