reef
does not look like taxifolia. could be Bryopsis. i would make a big effort to remove it.
Duke
Options 1) throw out the whole thing? 2) Take it out of the water and remove as much as possible and keep doing it. as I said so far there is none any where else. ghostface
none of the stuff i got from him seems to have it [touch wood]. not sure what it is, but it wouldnt look pretty spread all over your tank. i'd remove as much as poss, and maybe try to find a fish that eats it
wasp
As a last ditch effort before chucking the whole thing, try this it will work. Get a bottle from the lfs of that algae cure they use for fresh water tanks, it's only about 3 bucks. Remove the rock, and drip the algae cure directly onto the algae. Then leave the rock out of the water for 1/2 hour. Then let rock soak in a bucket with tank water for a few hours. Then rinse several times and put back in tank. This method will kill the algae, it will die over the next few days. However it may also kill some corals although zoos are usually OK. So it should only be a last resort. If you do get any algae rid in the tank, despite the rinsing, it will make the skimmer go nuts.
cookie extreme
could be Bryopsis it is Bryopsis. remove the rock and flush under boiling water. if your tank is very nutrient poor it will not grow much, if you have lots of nutrients it will explode in growth and cover almost everything and nothing seems to eat it. remove the zoo before hand so that you have some to start a new colony.
