Devon
Thanxs.I'll pop some food in his cave or near by.The thing is that the pair is only about 5+cm LOL. Is that rare to have them breed so erly?
Devon
Yea.Ive heard of bncf 15cm and they had 600 eggs!!! lol that would be a handful and a half.
Devon
Yea i thought it was abit over the top.But ive never seen then so....... Im gonna start running out of room for the bncf pretty fast as ive got another pair starting to find a love.Im wanting to grow them up so I can get a better price for them.Ill get 3ft.If i did get a 3ft do i need gravel ???? could i just have Sponge filters in there with them?As that would be easyer to look after. It would be by the window so I can get some algae happening in there for them. What do you think? HummingBird
Awesome to hear that something finally bred dude, the male should finally let the babies out of the cave in a week or two
Devon
Yea man im realy happy.Counted the eggs and theres ABOUT 30ish eggs.So not a bad spawn for a first timer.Hes good at his fanning job. 8) I can see some of the crud in my tank come flying out of his cave .
Alan
One thing I learnt Devon over the years of breeding fish is not to count the fry before they hatch. In my words it was not to count the fry before they were 30days old. Bit soon to say congrats yet I think. But kewl they have laid for you tho. Devon
Yea dont count your chickens before they hatch.Im not expecting 1/4 of them live.Just happy that they are doing there thing. 8)

PENEJANE
I know this may sound stupid but how small/big are the babies when they hatch? I have got my male faning my first lot of eggs and I am curious as to what to expect. I am hoping that they will hatch over the next couple of days. The male has come out once to shoo off some nosey fish that kept going into his cave lol apart from that its faning his fins off cheers
misnoma
Once the egg sac is gone they're around 8mm from memory.

Caryl
They are quite large penejane, hence the large egg sac. I would agree with mis re the size.
