Mark Francis
I'd stopped fish keeping for some twenty years but have recently set up a 215lit freshwater tropical tank with small African Malawi cichlids. I bought 11 fish over the a 2 month period with the hope of growing them up together and then moving them onto a larger tank in the next year or so. I always wanted to keep a tank of African cichlids and have spent a lot of time reading up about them. Obviously any advice is most welcome.Everything I'm doing so far is going really really well. The fish are happy, colours are amazing, they're all feeding vigorously and the water is pretty clear. My pair of red jewels are a little worry. I didn't realise they were male and female when I bought them. They since laid eggs twice but luckily they got eaten within a day on both occasions. I don't think they can guard the fry in a small tank like this and I don't want to section it.
