alexyay
I've finally finished the Breeding Scheme Species Corrections List which involved updating all of the binomial and common names of species that have previously been bred in New Zealand. Due to the changes in import regulations/accuracy, there are many names on this list that are not currently on our Import List and are likely not present in New Zealand. Can I please have confirmations as to whether any of the below species are currently or were recently (within the past year) available in New Zealand (or if they're on the Import List and I made a mistake!)(Please note that the common names can be used for several species, so it's worth checking the binomial name to see if it's the same fish)Laetacara dorsigera / Laetacara dorsigeraCichlasoma portalegrense / Cichlasoma portalegrenseAphyocharax anisitsi / Aphyocharax anisitsiAphyosemion bualanum ntui / Aphyosemion bualanum ntuiAphyosemion calliurum / Aphyosemion calliurumAphyosemion cinnamomeum / Aphyosemion cinnamomeumAphyosemion cognatum / Aphyosemion cognatumFundulopanchax marmoratus / Fundulopanchax marmoratusFundulopanchax puerzli / Fundulopanchax puerzliFundulopanchax scheeli / Fundulopanchax scheeliAphyosemion splendopleure / Aphyosemion splendopleureAstyanax abramis / Astyanax abramisCallichthys callichthys / Armoured CatfishAustrolebias affinis / Suzenna's PearlfishAustrolebias alexandri / Alexander's PearlfishAustrolebias bellottii / Argentine PearlfishSimpsonichthys bokermanni / Bokermann's PearlfishLeptolebias minimus / Barredtail PearlfishAustrolebias nigripinnis / Argentine PearlfishNematolebias whitei / White's PearlfishEpiplatys chaperi / Red Throated PanchaxEpiplatys dageti / Red-Chinned PanchaxEpiplatys grahami / Graham's PanchaxEpiplatys macrostigma / MacrostigmaEpiplatys sexfasciatus / Six Barred PanchaxHemichromis elongatus / Five Spot CichlidHemichromis lifalili / Blood Red Jewel CichlidNothobranchius kirki / Kirk's KilliNothobranchius melanospilus / Blackspotted NothoNothobranchius kafuensis / Kayuni State FarmOryzias latipes / Rice FishPachypanchax playfairii / Golden PanchaxPhalloceros caudimaculatus / Leopard FishPterolebias longipinnis / Peruvian Longfin KilliAphyolebias peruensis / Peruvian Longfin KilliRivulus hartii / Hart's Giant RivulusAnablepsoides holmiae / HolmiaeRivulus roloffi / Roloff's RivulusAphyosemion occidentalis / Golden PheasantTilapia mariae / Tiger CichlidOreochromis mossambicus / Mozambique MouthbrooderAphyosemion ahli / Ahl's LyretailRhodeus ocellatus / BitterlingGymnocorymbus thayeri / Straight Finned Black TetraAmphilophus labiatus / Red DevilNothobranchius vosseleri / Pangani NothoCichlasoma urophthalmus / Mayan CichlidAulonocara hansbaenschi / Red Shouldered PeacockPseudotropheus demasoni / Demasoni Cichlid (I'm assuming this species is present)Apistogramma sp. camtang
Empress, t reef, dems, maingiano and rusty confirmed.Sulphur headed is a dubious one as it is here, but how pure it is is unknown.N. pulcher is rumored to be here, I have spoken to a couple people who's Mayes mate has them.... but I have not seen confirmation of them myself. However I do trust the people who said it.

camtang
"red devil" could well be here, but mixed with Midas, so unsure of purity. Max, should have a better idea about the killies than most I would think.
livingart
There are many species of killi and other fish that were previously bred in this country that are no longer on the list or were imported incorrectly under other names camtang

Adrienne
Rice fish were in the shops 2014 or 2015 until MPI removed them. I can't confirm that they managed to track down the ones already sold. livingart
alexyay
Thanks heaps guys I've crossed off confirmed species so far and have put Rice Fish in red as it looks like MPI see them as invasive/problematic enough to go after them. David R
I'm not sure if Mayaheros urophthalmus (ex Cichlasoma) has ever been here, I've certainly never encountered it in my 20-odd years [unfortunately].As for the "red devil", cam hit the nail on the head; the chances are pretty high that the fish we have here are a mixture of both A. labiatium and A. citrinellum, and the only way to be sure you have one of the true species is to buy wild caught or F1 fish from a reputable collector/dealer, which isn't an option here.
