David R
http://www.trademe.co.nz/pets-animals/f ... 600350.htm A couple of my new fish (festivum and angels) are really thin and barey growing compared to their siblings, and I noticed stringy white poo from the festivum. I'm not going to catch the individual fish to treat separately, so was thinking something like this to dose the whole tank could be a good idea? camtang
I have just dosed my discus tank with that and have heard others give it the thumbs up.
hovmoller
I've used it for my discus as well... more of a preventive measure but I have also read good things about it. Are your thin fish eating but not gaining weight?
Discusguru
I've used it too. Although it says only one treatment is needed, it takes 3-4 treatment to be effective in my experience. Ron
David R
the fish are eating, but perhaps not as much as they could be. The festivum especially is incredibly thin though.
ryanjury
Have you tried levamisole David?
David R
Nope, is it something you need to get from a vet? And can you dose an entire tank with it?
reef
it is not MPI approved.
ryanjury
You can get it from the birdbarn or even offline in the form of aviverm. http://www.thedrenchshop.co.nz/index.ph ... Itemid=105 Instructions for use here: http://www.loaches.com/Members/shari2/l ... chloride-1 It might not help your situation but certainly wont make things worse and I have used it before and had no issues. It is cheap and easy to get and pretty mild etc. How big is your tank? If I have some left I can probably send you enough to treat your tank a little goes a long way with it. Adrienne
You can get Levamisole from HFF. I have used Kisuri - a single treatment only and ended up getting a script for Metro. Perhaps I should have used more.
alexyay
Have heard good things about it, personally. But wouldn't necessarily expect it to work as well as a vet medication. it is not MPI approved. :smot: but glad to get an answer for that - was wondering whether it was registered or not. Adrienne
Flubendazole (Flubenol), the active ingredient in Kusuri wormer, is sold in NZ. The NZ supplier is Nutritech.
