Slowly getting everything sorted and setup. tank is 2000 x 650 x 700mm and sump is 1000 x 450 x 360mm ( W x D x H )

Tank has had water in it for about a month, and heaters and pumps have been running for 3 weeks.

Have no idea what I'm doing but having a lot of fun reading what other people have done setting up there tanks.

Ammonia 4 ppm

Nitrate 20 ppm

Nitrite 0.5 ppm

not much to look at yet but here is a few shots

woah, 850l for your first marine tank! im quite Jealous

tank looks good, loads of LR in there..

what are you using for lighting? Skimming?

for lighting untill I have the money for the LED setup I want, I'm going to use a 400w & 250w MH I've got lying around.

As for skimmer, aqua one 220 till I have a few things in the tank. by then I'll have a better skimmer.

nice start

good to see some patience being applied :hail:

Thanks Livingart, it has been a battle not to put anything in the tank so far

Wow thats a huge tank for your first marine, I'm so jealous! But then we could never afford to keep up with all the salt so I shall stay happy with my little RSM!

This part is soooo frustrating but the really fun bit starts soon!

I was originally going to use a smaller tank, but after we lost all our freshwater fish we had in this tank, we decided to use this tank instead and have a good challenge. :bggrn:

Use sea water!!! And go big!!

I wish I could at the moment, but the weather has been really bad here lately. Used what I had left and now making the saltwater up as I go.

Anyway 2 weeks ago I got a large bit of coral rock back off Craig who goes to one of the clubs I go to. I asked him a year ago to put it in his tank to help kick start my tank once I got it setup.

So tonight took some more photos to show how much has changed in one week.
