hovmoller
R3.5 batts are at least 180mm thick so your walls must be around 200mm thick now then
henward
Pic attached about 15cm deep. I stuff batt behind QQuite thick the Batts But gonna be warm.
hovmoller
I hate to be a killjoy here but if you take 150mm batts and squeeze them into a 90mm gap (depth of timber framing) you will not only reduce the insulating ability from 150mm to 90mm it will in fact be worse because the product is squashed and so can't hold as much air as it should. It would have been better to use 90mm thick batts. No doubt it will be nice and warm anyway but just wanna let you know what's going on. henward
yeah, the squash isnt as squashed, the batts was half price. it was 35 a bale so i took the lot. 10 bales. when they came out, they dont come out as unform as pink batts would, it seems to be one of those chinese generic stuff. so its not squashed like a pan cake and totally airless. if you look at the pics. they are not sticking out much. hovmoller
Yeah it definitely looks like it will be nice and warm in there. And good work!
henward
Tank stand positioned, levelled and feet are locked in. garage is ready for tank build, only one corner left to do, no more wool , all poly from here as i cant get into the space anymore with wool. so if anyone wants super cheap insulation wool. Let me know, i have enough for about 8.5 sqm. Its R3.5. Here is the pic of the final position Outside in My wife is 5'11 - size comparison

David R
Of course not! I was merely stating his broad shoulders would make the width of the tank seem not so impressive by comparison to his svelte wife. Tank's going to be epic, really looking forward to seeing how it looks when its built. That aro is going to go crazy with so much space! ps. don't expect a pic of me lying on my stand...
