opticalblue
How do you use copper to kill the snails?
Faran
Copper sulfate is toxic to snails so you just buy it and dose as labeled (or Google if you're sourcing it through non conventional channels), but be warned if you have a large population and kill them all at once with CS you can cause a massive load of decaying bodies which can completely throw off your tank and kill all the fish. Lots of water changes are needed after a CS killing. Have you considered loaches? They're awesome fish and LOVE snails
F15hguy
plus the amount of copper sulphate you use is miniscule (around 0.5g for a 800Ltr pond) and you'll need to get special scales to measure it accurately. imo trapping and loaches are the best option if your going the copper route tho it would be worth buying a watered down product like snail rid to help you measure quantities accurately. or you could set up a dwarf puffer tank....... alanmin4304
Copper is very toxic to some fish and many shops have stopped selling snailrid because people kept coming back with dead fish. Try loaches---lots safer

blueether
HTH is high test hypochlorite which produces 80 percent chlorine when added to water. And a large enough dose of that will rid the tank of any snails* NAV is Naturalist Against Vermin** * And all other life forms from the bio-filter to the plants and the fish ** Don't ask me why they have branched out into pest eradication, one would think that they had enough on their hands
