GrahamC
I'm trying to make the bell siphon shown here http://www.underthechokotree.com/index. ... &Itemid=37 I've got most of the parts mail order from Hansen's but can't find the 25mm diameter pipe riser with male threads on both ends. Also, finding pipe work for drainage in small lengths is also a mission. I've managed to get some clear PE tubing from Bunnings but because it's clear, it's not ideal. At present because I couldn't find the risers, I am using a couple of drink bottles to create the bell and it's working .. sort of.
blueether
um, why does it have to be threaded at both ends?
GrahamC
It doesn't ... though if you want a reducer at the top, then a thread there will help. I think they use a 30 mm ? to 25 mm reducer so that the final intake is larger than the riser pipe diameter. This makes it easier to start the siphon. Hamstar99
Its it just using thin walled pipe? Can you just use the push a push on hose tail if it is? AS far as the bits and pieces of pipe id go and see a plumber. They will probably have all those bits in a bin if your lucky.
GrahamC
I'm using a water bottle at present in place of the riser. The water bottle cap fits nicely into the 25 mm female thread. And then a juice bottle goes over the top ( don't drink soft drink so couldn't locate one of those 2L bottles. And this is where I needed to connect the drain pipe
blueether
The longer the fall on the vertical pipe the better the flow will be, at the moment I think you will find it too short but it might be better with a proper riser above the bulkhead fitting

GrahamC
This site sells them http://www.aquaspec.co.nz/micro-irrigat ... -300mm.cfm in packs of 10, and no prices listed. I left the inside light on in our hybrid, and even though the ignition was turned off, it still managed to flatten the battery PM'd you.
