Totally. There are also several nurseries in NZ and on last check 2-3 websites dedicated to such plants. New Zealand even has its own native carnivorous plants. A really cool and interesting hobby but very time consuming and can occupy a lot of space.

I did write a bit and post some photos of one of my trips up Ruapehu looking for the native Drosea species. Found heaps.

Unfortunately during the forum upgrade they went missing.

I have a friend who has 3 huge green houses full of them. I think he even has developed a stunning pitcher plant and gets royalties for it.

If you really want to grow Venus Fry Traps from seed you will be waiting a few years before it comes to anything. Better to split an existing plant.
