phoenix44
Took some pics a few minutes ago with no flash and one set of T5 HOs on the tank with a dull pink plant pro T8 and a marine blue T8.
myfishybuisness
dam, what type of sword is that (rose x??) if you ever have some runners give me a pm
karina
Very different look with the blue. Do the plants like the marine blue? I was thinking about adding a blue light for my loaches but I've noticed not all fish react well to the blue. Thoughts?
phoenix44
It's sword is E. barthi. I don't normally have the marine blue on. It was only for taking the pics. It stimulates plants to start flowering but a good plant tube has all the spectra needed for optimal growth and flowering response.
alanmin4304
What are you doing to get the barthii that red? It used to be called double red but it has never been red like that for me. Lovely plant.
phoenix44
I take off all the green leaves because when the mature they go from purple / black to red and then green. High light I think is the only other thing. Powerglos bring out red in plants too. They are excellent lights. I stopped all ferts a month ago as well because I started messing around too much and got BBA that took months to battle without chemicals. After ages the flower stalk produced a tiny pup. Only has one bright red leaf at the moment. It's even redder than the mother plant because it's about 3 cm away from the light hood. :slfg:

Joe
Mmm... I don't quite like this layout... I think your best one was the original "jungle" layout you did on that really long thread! It was awesome
phoenix44
Yeah, I agree. I absolutely loved the first layout with all those plants in it but I just don't have the time any more. Maybe one day the enthusiasm I once had will be renewed and I'll do another tank from scratch.

Caper
Curious So with all these plants, you don't vacuum do you? With so many places to hide, how do you keep track of your fish? If you were to rearrange, does everything have to be taken out? Thanks, Caper
TomGilberg
Curious With so many places to hide, how do you keep track of your fish? Thanks, Caper lol keep track of fish, with large schools of tetra even in a bare tank you couldnt keep track of them. i agree with joe, the tank seem to be lacking, but is still very impressive. i hope the flame reignites for you, i love being excited about this hobby
