KM
Hey freshwest I have not seen any for a long time, but I have heard things from time to time. Recently I spoke to someone at a well known LFS that confided that he had 6, that he had sourced from an importer located in Christchurch. I see you live in Waiuku, that's pretty cool, as I'm moving there with my 4 cichlid tanks in the next few months. What fish do you keep? Oh, my pay to get in touch with phil the discusman, he may be able to help as he has an import licence.

Some imported stock would be nice . Q . How did MAF come up with its allowable list and why arnt Fronts on it . I cant imagine Fronts naturalizing to NZ conditions . Ira
I'd imagine they have a whole bunch of rabid monkeys with a book of aquarium fish to pick the species.

herefishiefishie
I could be because the word "tilapia" is in its name. If you come over here there are plenty of Burundis. There are also about 4 to 5 other variants, bit harder to find but they are here. 8) Frenchy
freshwest
Sounds like a better situation in oz with regards to finding fish . Still no luck here . I thought Tilapia maybe the problem as well . I sent an email to MAF to ask why front s are not on the allowable list , the reply was ..if its not on the list it is not allowed entry. Please complete the attached however to request a risk analysis to be done. This may have already been done and resulted in prohibited entry but there may also have been no interest. Please send completed form to the details noted on the bottom. . I have filled out the forms, it will be interesting to see what develops
