Caryl
I saw a kitset gingerbread house somewhere (The Warehouse I think). That must be cheating :dunno: I have never tried to make one so don't have any tips sorry.

Gill
Make sure you add egg white to the icing otherwise it may not stick together ....
mcrudd
I bought a kitset one from pack and save for nine dollars, opened it this morning and the chimney is broken and the one side wall is broken, guess I will have to stick it together, atleast its just broken and not crumbled. I have tried baking it myself, but can never get the thickness quite right. I am going to go to the cake shope and see what little decorations I can buy, someone said that I should make the eggwhite icing and leave it out for a day or two too harden and then grate it for realistic snow. Might try that too.

mcrudd
Well it completely caved in now, disaster struck on my little house. I think I just put too much icing on the roof atleast I managed a photo before it happened, Kids will munch on it anyways, so no worries :rotf:

mcrudd
Sophia you won't believe it but its gone Caryl I just just took that pic in time, we decided that disaster struck due to the blizzard causing very high snowlevels on the roof, causing it to cave in, next time I will have a lighter snowfall LOL. Thanks so much Joe, it did look very nice indeed, a pitty it won't be on our Christmas table
Sophia
I believe it, it was destined to be chomped. And although it didn't make it to the christmas table but it will still be 'around' tomorrow in another form.... Pak n Save had some you put together yourself, about $10 or $
