Update: Frogs fed to arowana - PM REPLIES

Ok, despite what your personal beliefs on feeding frogs to arowana, i know what it is,

i just want to ask anyone here since i last asked, who has fed common green frogs to arowanas, silver, jardinii.. what ever.

PM ME with your reply.

just want to know how they fared, any adverse effects. THings like that.

i understand that this is not ideal for everyone, so reply with feedback through PM if you are not comfortable doing it here.

The secretion makes the frog slippery and hard to grip, and is poisonous to some other species of frogs, so it is a useful defensive tool for Green and Golden Bell Frogs.

I'm taking that these are the frogs you will be feeding? I'm not sure if it is poisonous to arowanas though.

apparently they do release toxins .. how toxic and to what who knows, may just taste bitter.

i have seen beardies chase them down with vigor only to quickly spit them out, which is consistent with the above, it was like they'd just taken a bite of a hot chilli.

not a good feeder imo. you are better off with rats, insects, and fish.
