livebearer_breeder
Internally its 2.4m x 1.2m, Actualy Bill i oppted for the cheap yellow stuff that goes in the walls, but i spent the other money on aqualine Gib, which supposedly is a better insulater as well as being water proof. Faran
Now, if you're going to go through all the trouble building a fish room, why not build a big tank in that wall that can be viewed from outside and maintained from inside the room? Just a thought for when I build mine...
livebearer_breeder
Not cost affective, my fishroom is not for big tanks, its mainly for small breeding tanks. I have 2 larger tanks inside, for community fish, and other than growing plants etc, there not well stocked. Besides doing something like wat you've mentioned would present a tonne of problems. pearlyred
Shae, got any pics of the completed room with tanks yet?
livebearer_breeder
Its not completed, my weilder hasnt done the stands, and went away for a 8 week holiday around the world. So im a bit annoyed, all the tanks in there are either on the ground or on a make shift stand, and i dont really want to post pics of that. PENEJANE
I can't see any of the pictures. All I get is a little box with a red X in it. I have right clicked and then clicked on show picture but it doesn't work. Any chance of some new pics? Would be very interested
livebearer_breeder
ok well i have my first stand, and its getting painted this afternoon. i have two questions, one, what do i use across the railings of the stands to support the tanks? or are they small enuf that the edges of the steel frame will hold the tanks? also another question, should i do any preperation on the underside of the shelves for the lighting, as i havnt bought it yet and was wondering hw i was going to secure them to the unserside of the shelves. Brianemone
always a good idea to support the whole base of the tank, try your local building suppier to see if they have some of cuts of ply, itm has some really good ones here in the tron
