White Poo

If the discus is hanging around at the bottom of the tank staring at the back wall

and not eating and pooing white you need to treat with metro

Best to remove to a quarantine tank and treat

Otherwise the meds can add up real fast

all the best

This is exactly what is happening.

Is the best way to treat to soak food in metro?

The fish in question is not eating!

So confused over Metro dosing...

Im finding different dosages all over the place...

Bath dose is 250 mg metronidazole per 10 gallons for 12-24 hrs, repeat daily for five days, with approximately 70-100% water change done after 12-24 hr each day prior to re-dosing.

the feed dose for metronidazole--which is 4.5 grams per pound of feed; should be fed for 5 days total (and exclusively--no other food).

Jehmco pure metro you can dose 1/4tsp per 20gals. Start by doing a large, at least 50%, wc. then dose the tank. Do the same every 24hrs for 10days

easy way is 1/4 tsp per 41 gal. temp 87deg. I do 50% wc dose in the am then pm 25% wc dose again. I do this for 10 days along with metro flake for white feces.

I did 500 mg/10 gal.

:nilly: :nilly:

My tank is 37 gallons.

I have a spare 24L tank, i could put her in there, but will that be to small?

Should i just dose my 37 gallon?

any help greatly appreciated...

What's the point of soaking food when the fish is not eating?

I use 500mg metro and dose 1 tab/40ltrs water after nearly complete waterchange.

Redose daily after 80% waterchange for 7-10 days.

Crushed the tab using a mortar and pastel into paste. Add water and grind. Tip into tank.

Increase temp to 31 deg with and airstone in the tank. Don't need filter.

hth,

Ron
