wasp
How big is your tank? Got a sump?
Duke
4ft x 2ft x 2ft with sump......... thinking of a batter got a good mix ?
wasp
Ok not quite sure what type of clowns or how big, but in a 4 foot tank it is highly likely there is enough room for them to be able to sort this out eventually. If, however, things just got really bad, the other option is to put the damsel in the sump for 2 weeks.
Duke
good thouht but he seems to hide when the net shows....... not a good feeed with chips.. oh only small 40mm damsel but a small pair of clowns 20mm clowns

Pies
Damsels are aggressive fish, been attacked by many when diving. Worth noting that clowns are also damsels. Percs and ocelleris (sp? False Percs) seem to be the more mild mannered of any of them though. Let them work it out, 4 foot is not overly large, may just not work out, hard to know. Sump for the Starki is proably the best bet. Good luck catching it, you may need to invest in a trap. Good luck Pie
wasp
Oh yes, 2 cm tank raised false percs. Probably about as placid as anything you'll get in terms of repulsing the damsel, but they are surprisingly resilient, not sure when you added the clowns but will probably sort iself out in 2 or 3 days. But you're going to love those clowns. A small pair of tank raised false percs is a great way to get into clowns.
wasp
Just a little tip here, try feeding your fish with the net. In a few weeks you'll have them trying to jump into it rather than run away. A useful behaviour if you ever need to remove one.
petplanet
Try 2 nets. 1 BIG, 1 small. Set the big net near the glass and use your hand or small net to drive the damsel into it. I would catch is now rather than letting them sort it out. That, or get a sea anemone, that will take care of the clowns. If it is an open top tank it doesn't take much to make a clown jump - like a damsel attacking from below.
Brianemone
damn damsels, let it playout a bit if, clowns wil stay in one spot anyway so dont be worrid if the only hang out in the corner
Duke
Well an up date on the situation.... damsel dosn't have much too do with the clowns except a full on attack evry now and then. I mean I saw him do the fly by once yesterday. Other wise all is reasonably peacefull. Oh but the clowns have taken to a power head at the top of the tank and don't move much. Can't see the liitle clowns which is not good.... might have to move the pump lower for viewing. Thanks for the posts
wasp
I'd let them be for a while, just make sure the PH has a sponge on it. When they are more settled you will see them more, they may even move their location.
dogmatix
It is most likely that i will not be ordering damsels into the store anymore. I believe they are the worst starter fish you can purchase. Better off using black mollies IMO Ben
