Looking for discus but really like to see big range of fish and products. I know Hollywood is great but are there more that are just as good? Thanks, Malcolm. Aquaworld in Target Rd Wairau (North Shore) has lots of saltwater fish and corals I thought was cool and some freshwater too. HFF Mt Roskill is my favourite for the variety of fish, products and knowledge and HFF Albany is similar but a bit more spacious. HFF have the best deals for dry stuff and usually their plants are good also. The Animates stores around are all OK but don't have anything particular specialised that I've noticed, but they often have useful specials on other bits. Pupuke Aquarium Centre in Pupuke Rd Birkenhead is another small but interesting store. There is a big fish n pet store at Takanini, forgotten the name. Also best to take a real good look at the fish before purchase - often see lots of dead fish in the tanks. I've been to Aqua Village as well. They have a dedicated fish person in there now that has completely revamped the fish room and stocked the tanks up with a good variety of fish at pretty good prices. I did the rounds on saturday and visited hollywoods, bird barn and a couple of other places. Bird barn had the best selection of fish at the best prices. Birdbarn can be good, would also look at Animates just down the road if you're out there as they're one of the better ones in Auckland IME. Both HFF's are probably the best all round IMO though.
