Joshlikesfish
I was just having a look at my young Clowns (L104, P.Maccus) and noticed one of them has a tail like a L204 or L066. Anybody else noticed that before?
phoenix44
I cannot be of much help but these are some very young ones I had a quite a while ago. And under stress - Plecos do tend to change patters and colours as they mature, so I would be inclined to put it down to variation.
Joshlikesfish
The pattern and color of mine are all normal, they've just got extended bits coming off the tail like on a L204 or L066
flatfish
There is a school of thought out there that flash plecos (L204) are just a regional variant of the clown pleco. Not sure that I agree with that but they are similar and if they are very closely related, clowns may also have the genetic potential to grow long filaments on their tail fin. Joshlikesfish
I always saw L204 as an upgraded version of L104
flatfish
Grow it on and breed from it. You may get young with even longer filaments.
