Feeding the big bad fish

I am on fish duty this weekend as Bev is away. How much are you meant to feed fish? We have 7 Gourami, 6 Rasbora, 5 Rummy nose tetra, 6 Glass cats and 2 BN. They seem so hungry but how would I know if they are tricking me and they are not hungry? Also - I stuck some algee wafers in for the BN and someone else ate them. Who out of that lot would be keen on them as well. I know it wasn't the BN bros as they were not interested whe I put them in. Not even ten minutes later they were gone. Tonight I fed them a cube of Brine shrimp and a pinch of flakes... is this enough?

I think you will find most of the fish in your tank will nibble on the algae wafers , even the tetras.

That amount of food should be ok, if you do happen to over feed/ see leftover food sitting on the bottom of the tank 10 minz after feeding just syphon it out.

You did well. :D

The fish could live for a week without food anyway and its way better to feed less than overfeed. If you overfeed and there is food leftover on the bottom it will cause issues.

My pet hate - going away and leaving my family to feed fish then coming home to find cotton woolly like food in the tank rotting away.
