blueyes
I bought some wee baby blue mystery snails... they are between 3-5mm, as strange as this may sound does anyone know if they will be okay to put into the new tank while its still cycling? ie will they survive the cycle process?? blueyes
Okay, so I'm going to ask a dumb question.... but what do you mean by the water being "basic"?

Jennifer
Agreed, they will do better in a tank that isn't acidic because high acid conditions 'dissolve' their shell. They also do a lot better when you feed them regularly. They can randomly crawl out and land on the floor so it helps to have a good lid!
blueyes
Hehe, thanks Jen.... at the moment they are in a net breeder hanging off my community tank but I don't want to leave them in there too long which is why I was thinking about putting them into the new setup to let them grow out a bit before I put them into the big tank
