Stevo165
Hi there guys My names Stephen and am currently living in Dunedin, I've been keeping tropical fish for the last 6 or so years and have regularly lurked these forums, but until now i haven't been able to sign up as i didn't have a private email address lol i am currently keeping Columbian tetras, Angel fish, Cardinal tetra's and White Cloud Mountain Minnow's in Nano tanks. although 1 of them decided it didn't like having 4 solid sides one night so my tanks are slightly over stocked at the moment but are highly filtered with 17.5X turn over per hour and lots of regular water changes keeping things squeaky clean. i will be setting up a Betta barracks in the not to distant future, and will be looking for some awesome breeding stock to fill it up with and am looking forward to it am also talking to MAF at the moment about the regulations and rules involved with importing a small amount of stock from overseas. and i am hoping to import 2 new species of Betta into New Zealand, Betta Macrostoma and Betta Albimarginata so fingers crossed, if the application that i put through allows for multiple species to be requested and is not exorbitantly priced i will be allowing members on here to let me know what they would like to go on the application, assuming this is OK with the moderator's, (please pm me mod's and let me know) Thank you everybody for all the help i have received over the past years and i hope all the great advise continues edit man I'm great at grammar

Caryl
Hi and welcome. If you have unlimited access to a money vault then you will be able to import as many fish as you like (as long sa they are on the allowable list) Have you checked what it will cost you, or do you have an importer ready and able to help? Stevo165
Awesome, I'm so glad i am not the only person who likes the marcostoma in NZ i don't have unlimited money although that would certainly make things smoother lol I'm still finding out the costs associated with importing into Dunedin especially regarding the quarantine facility's available here, but i have been directed to the Dunedin member of MAF who deals with ornamental fish and should be getting a email back on Thursday with all the forms and permits that i will need to obtain. and what the standards regarding quarantine and the facility that is hosting them.
