diver21
hey im looking at free technical drawing programms and was wondering if anyone can recomend any to me?
blueether
depends what you want to do, but off the top of my head Blender and POVray. The latter is more of a rendering program and the first has a very steep learning curve.
Bishop
lots of programs out there for different needs. Google sketch up can be quite good too. what is it you are trying to do?
diver21
i want to do a drawing for these: i was thinking of a programme where you do a orthagraphic drawing and it turns it into a isometric or similar picture

diver21
that layout one looks about right for what im wanting. idealy i want to be able to draw a line and tell it how long i want it to be, tell the circles what diameter to be by entering them into a text box rather than trying to draw it to the exact length. so then i can make an accurate to scale drawing looking like this one so i can see how thick/thin the ally will be in places. hopefully that makes sence. SamH
Yup! Sketchup has a text box where you can type in the dimensions, you don't even need to click it simply type in the numbers when creating the circle. Can even change between metric and imperial 8)

si_sphinx
Just find a free download for a CAD program (autocad etc), plenty out there, way easier and could draw this up in 10mins. I use Archicad, more for 3D work though.
Wok
I have used Google Sketchup quite a bit. in fact I used it to draw up our factory plans. Architect could then do what I want them to do from the drawings I provided him. very easy learning curve as well. and it can do what you want it to do.
