Stephanie
I know I started a topic about this awhile ago, but as it ended up going completely off topic, here I am again. Now we’ve moved to Taupo, found a house and jobs and almost have our fish set up (nothing pretty yet! Lol) I am interested to see who out there in Taupo and the surrounding areas, keeps and maybe breeds fish. We lost a few on the way down, which is unfortunate but I guess to be expected. I’m hoping to have everything set up and breeding asap. Now life seems to be as exciting as working, cleaning the house and walking the dog, we haven’t really had a chance to do much else, so it would be nice to meet some likeminded people, maybe swap fish around, and find out who keeps what. Please don’t hijack my thread of awesome. I miss having fish people (Josh where are you?) around! Ta.

Caryl
Arrange a get-together then advertise it locally in malls, supermarkets, any bulletin boards you can find, lfs, schools etc. Got a local freebie paper? Ring them and ask them to do an article about you wanting to start a fish club.
Adrienne
Hi Stephanie (and Allister) Did the fighter fry survive the shift? They are tougher than people reckon. Is there a pet shop? Ask in there. Congratulations on finding work!
Stephanie
Yes Adrienne they made it and thanks! All but one survived the trip. We lost a couple of swords and goldfish on the way down and a few fighters have gone in the last two weeks. I'm pretty gutted but now i'm keen to breed what I have left and work from there. Mr. Dragon is still with us, has a pretty good nest and a super keen lady friend so cross your fingers for me!

Stella
Very soon there is a TOTALLY AMAZING native fish aquarium opening on your very doorstep At the Tongariro National Trout Centre I am setting up 10 enormous tanks, the shortest is 1.5m, the longest is I think 7m. Seven show different native fish and their habitats, one for native/pest plants and two for pest fish. It will have almost all freshwater fish species in the North Island! Since everyone will be itching to go and see it, I suggest you organise the various other clubs to come and visit the aquarium, via Taupo. make the fish people come to you The grand opening is March 11 (three weeks... eep!). Once it is done I will post photos 8)
